Indian GPS System FAQs

NavIC consists of a constellation of seven satellites in orbit that transmit signals to receivers on the ground. These signals are used to calculate the receiver's location and provide accurate timing information.

While NavIC is primarily designed to provide coverage in India and the surrounding regions, it can be used in other parts of the world as well. However, it may not provide as accurate or reliable positioning information as other GPS systems that are specifically designed for use in those regions.

NavIC is designed to be more accurate and reliable than GPS in India and the surrounding regions. It also provides additional features such as messaging and location-based services that are not available with GPS.

No, NavIC is a free and open service that is available to anyone with a compatible receiver. However, there may be costs associated with purchasing a compatible receiver or using location-based services that are available through NavIC.
